In a list compiled of UMass Dartmouth's top 100 salaries during the same time period, the salary for the 100th-highest-paid position was $148,548.56, and was paid to a professor.
A study compiled by Maryland-based ASA Research that was commissioned by the Massachusetts Teachers Association tracked faculty and management position salaries in 2021 to 2022.
The average salary for a UMass Dartmouth professor was then $136,279, according to the study.
It was fourth in associate professor salaries, as well, at $101,831. That compared with UMass Lowell, $116,365; UMass Boston, $112,199; UMass Amherst, $110,435.
UMass Dartmouth was third when it came to the overall faculty member's average salary — which includes assistants, instructors and lecturers — at $103,169 vs. UMass Amherst, $116,543; UMass Lowell, $110,789; UMass Boston, $100,663.
According to the study, the average salaries for a Bridgewater State University professor and overall faculty member in 2021-2022 were $103,168 and $87,755, respectively.
And the average salaries for a Mass. Maritime Academy professor and overall faculty member were $107,251 and $88,664, respectively.
UMass Dartmouth was third, according to the study, in the average management position salary at $118,148, compared with UMass Boston, $164,729; UMass Amherst, $146,665; UMass Lowell, $105,784.
And, according to the study, public four-year faculty members earned nearly 30% less than comparable faculty members teaching in private institutions.
