King Charles' younger sister Princess Anne has been discharged from hospital after suffering a concussion at her Gatcombe Park estate on Sunday. The 73-year-old royal suffered mild head injuries after being struck by a horse. Today's top videos Now, five days later, Anne has privately departed Bristol's Southmead Hospital and has returned to her country home near Minchinhampton. Buckingham Palace's original statement on the incident read: 'The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening. 'Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery. 'The King has been kept closely informed and joins the wholeRoyal Familyin sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery.' Speaking as Princess Anne returned home, her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, said in a statement: 'I would like to extend my warmest thanks to all the team at Southmead Hospital for their care, expertise and kindness during my wife's short stay.' The Princess' injuries came after the royals were seen enjoying Taylor Swift's Eras tour at London's Wembley Stadium over the weekend, letting their hair down after a difficult few months. Prince William was caught shaking it off without a care in the world with Prince George and Princess Charlotte before they went backstage to meet Taylor and boyfriend Travis. Princess Anne's daughter Zara Tindall and her husband Mike also enjoyed a date night at the show over the weekend.
