i wouldn't go that far... they (PSU) still have a lot more 4's than we do.
I'd say it's a lot closer to being even, than it has been in a decade +
Hoke n RR had a lot more 4* than Sparty, and Nard had that D kicking us in the mommy/daddy button yearly.
I wouldn't fret it.

Really excited what Narduzzi and staff did with his first true recruiting class. Very impressed with the talent and potential they brought it.

The biggest difference was addressing weaknesses.
Pitt brought in a massive Defensive line, CB, and WR haul. Those were the positions that needed the most help. And we scored in A+ in all 3 areas.

Rafael Araujo-Lopes was also a 1st team Junior College All American after posting 17 touchdowns, 1800 all purpose yards, and 1300 receiving yards in 10 games. He is also a transfer with Clark and Hendrix.
This class is Top 10 in the country.
He was eligible last year. He was not even remotely a highly recruited player.
Happy with the class. It definitely isn't top 10, by any ranking, no matter whether you add those 3 guys or not.

Jerry Rice went to Mississippi Valley State. What is your point in terms of being highly recruited, and good?
He was a 1st team JC All American Prior to that doesnt mean anything. Its about improvement.

No, Lopes was not a JC All American this year. He wasn't even one last year. He was a "California Community College Athletic Association All American" during the 2014 season. He was never a JUCO All American. He was at Pitt in 2015 and eligible to play, but did not. He was not really recruited at all out of HS or Community College. That is the reason he was available in May to enroll in the Fall. He was simply a flier by the staff to see if he could be something, since they had ships to give and a definite need at WR.
Below are the links to his Pitt bio (saying he was eligible last season and that he was just a "CCCAA All American" at Reedley) and the 2014 National Junior College Athletic Association's 2014 All American team, which does not include him.

Right off Pitt's website
"his lone season at Reedley, Araujo-Lopes was a junior college All-American after compiling 74 receptions for 1,229 yards (16.6 avg.) and 17 touchdowns in 10 games"
He also played in the All American Semper Fidelis bowl.

It isn't actually correct. Look at the links I posted. I posted his official profile from Pitt. I posted the actual NJCAA All American team. He was not a junior college All American. Pitt does not list him as a junior college AA, because he was not one. Reedley isn't even in the NJCAA, because it is a lower classification. He also did not play in the All American Semper Fidelis Bowl. He played in the 2013 Central Florida All Star Game. Those aren't even remotely the same things.
And, again, he was eligible this past season. He didn't record a single catch.
Can we not be happy with the class, but at the same time operate within reality and with honesty?

EVERY rating service has pitt 15-25 spots below penn state, but whatever you gotta tell yourself to get through the offseason.
Since you've been outrecruiting Pitt for years, I guess all the pressure is on you to win in September. You should be heavy favorites, especially since it will be like a home game for you, since nitters will be buying all of the tickets, right? Epic coaching fail if you don't win with so many more highly ranked players.

While the ranking is not a perfect indicator lets be honest,............teams that generally rank in the top 10 win more than teams that rank in the 20s' and teams in the 20's generally win more than teams that rank below 40...For sure you cant spit hairs but generally speaking class rankings over a period years provide a decent correlation to success on the field This class is a great start for Duzz all things considered

what and incredible finish to he first full recruiting class. Filled a bunch of needs on defense with some kids who likely will make a big impact next year. Added a Qb with huge upside and some nice talent at Wr. Took the big boys on toe to toe and had a pretty good win pct
My how things have changed. Totally different vibe. It would be interesting. To here from all the posters who said earlier that Duzz class wasn't much better than Chrsyts class.
The icing on the cake was seeing little Jimmy flailing around trying to salvage his class.
What are you talking about? Pretty damn nice class! Ranked higher than yours including the #1 Running back in the country from your back yard no less. What's even funnier is your coaches lame attempts to flip him.

What is even funnier, is that after the Worst Scandal in the History of College Sports, The CULT had Doubled Down on their Football Program, and claim that they are the 'Real' Victims. Must be the ice cream on that campus that turns people into Arrogant D-Bags. Or 'Arrogance 101' is a class that every Freshman is required to take.
PSU does have more talent at most Positions right now compared to PITT because of the terrible Coaching Hires by the prior PITT Administration(and because PSU values Football above everything else, they pour more money into their Program and have one of the top 5 Alumni Bases that leads to more money put into their FB Program), so it will be funny to watch the CULT's Collective Heads explode when they lose even 1 of the 4 Games to PITT. If PITT wins the first 2 Games of the series, Frankie '1 Finger' will be gone by 2018.
Losing to Temple with 4 Star Athletes across your starting lineup, exposed Frankie '1 Finger'. Barely beating Army, who struggled to beat Bucknell, is enough of a sample size to have me hoping that The CULT keeps Frankie '1 Finger' for 4 more years, but getting smoked by Harbaugh, Dantonio & Meyer in the next 2 years, will probably have The CULT eating their own soon.
