I have lived in Gaffney my whole life. It has grown tremendously in the last several years. We have parks, pools, and splash pads for the kids now. We have downtown shops, restaurants, and breweries with entertainment at times. We have a little bit of everything big for a small town. I would like to see decrease in crime in Cherokee County.

Why would you choose To move to gaffney ?
Probably because Have no choice lol There are a few good Areas in Gaffney grassy pond and out towards the Spartanburg county line is pretty good A lot of the people out in the grassy pond area are very entitled and karen like ! Outside of that there's nothing ! It's not as bad as Anderson county Would the hatred toward young people, but there's not much to do For young people ! All the Usual small town tropes are present in gaffney! Corrupt local government and School system arrogant an ignorant police officers rampet racism , extraordinarily high crime ! And Gaffney has a ton of very self entitled self important Town folk . If this sounds appealing to you by all means move here if not keep on going !

Gaffney is a beautiful place with a rich and interesting history. The geology is incredibly unique and deserves study. That's everything positive. I've lived here my whole life. The majority of the populace is ignorant and backwards. Everything revolves around textile mill culture and high school football. The city blows its budget every year on ridiculous things, ignoring education and healthcare. You can't have a baby here, you have to go elsewhere. They constantly try to sell property to textile mills and Duke Energy, who almost opened a nuclear plant. Several acres of pristine woodland would be flooded. City council and school board are a joke. The local Board of Public Works will cut your utilities if you are even a penny late by one day, even if you have a large deposit on file with them. But guess who has the highest pay in town...Police are overweight and delight in giving tickets. They are not helpful. Ever. All churches and restaurants. Sidewalks in rich areas only. Beware...
