As usual, this post will contains spoilers. Here we go!

Summary
Beast Tamer episode 13 review (3)
Nina wanted to join Rein by forming a contract, but the latter is unsure if he can do it since he already made a contract with 4 of the ultimate species. Regardless, Rein still went with the ritual since his waifus also wanted to have Nina on the team. After the contract had been successfully made, Rein and his team visited the guild and was informed that he had been promoted to C rank as an adventurer due to the great achievements he performed. Rein asked where he can buy a house since the inn they are currently residing got smaller with their huge number. Natalie helped them look for a new house in which they settled for a property that satisfied the specification for each of Rein’s members’ needs.

Beast Tamer episode 13 review (4)However, the house is haunted by a ghost which greatly scared Kanade. Rein and friends investigated the insides of the house and were suddenly greeted by the ghost who told them to leave. The twins used their magic to repel the ghost, but nothing happened. The ghost then went to scare Kanade which froze the cat girl on her tracks due to extreme fear. Because of this, Kanade somehow managed to physically hurt the ghost in which their roles were reversed since the haunter became the haunted. The twins then confined the ghost inside the room to prevent her from escaping. The ghost then attempted to possess Rein, but the latter stopped her from doing so. The ghost then introduced her as Tina Holy and how she was murdered 30 years ago by her employer. Rein then proposed to let Tina stay with them in which the ghost happily accepted. Meanwhile, Arios and his party went and tried to acquire provisions for their journey but were denied by all the shops in town due to their refusal to help the people of Horizon during the demon attack. Rein went back to his house with his party and had a hearty dinner while reminiscing of their past adventure.

This episode very much wraps up the aftermath of the demon incident where we see Rein and his party deserved a much needed break. It’s unfortunate that Nina’s village had been abandoned after she was abducted where I guess the best logical step for her is to join Rein since she doesn’t have a place to go back to. It’s also great that Rein’s rank went up by two ranks but I think the guild was being too stingy since our MC should had been promoted to A-rank since subjugating that demon was no cake walk. We are also introduced to Tina Holy, our final member of the party that joined which is a ghost. I don’t get to see a lot of ghost characters used in anime aside from the one in Flying Witch which is also a maid therefore, I approve this combo deal, although I’m not fond of ghosts either like what Kanade felt when she first saw that specter.

Beast Tamer episode 13 review (6)The ghost scene was cute and funny, but I didn’t know you can actually hurt ghosts physically if you lose your mind due to extreme fear and just randomly unleash a flurry of attacks. Sigh… that’s anime logic for you. And yeah, you already expected the backlash to Arios’ group since he didn’t help during the demon attack, although it was quite subtle in contrast to what he done to Rein since he was the source for everything that had happened. And what? Our MC can actually tame ghosts as well? Isn’t there anything our boy here can’t do? Man, this guy sure is beyond OP to me.

Beast Tamer episode 13 review (7)Overall, I think this is a good way to end the series; the good guys win, the bad guys lose, and Rein reaped the rewards thanks to the heroism he displayed. But I think he got the most important reward of them all in which money can’t buy: a group of people who cares about him that he can call family and a place where he truly can call home. You can never put a price tag on that. Once again, thanks for reading my episode reviews until the end. This is actually the first time I completed an episode review and I still have more on my backlog. It’s been fun doing this but my time is kind of short and I don’t have the energy to this on consistent basis, although I do try. Thanks for reading and have a great day!

  1. This is a light and easy going series that’s fun on so many levels. It does go dark every now and then though such as how Tina died and what happened to Nina. I’ve enjoyed reliving the series through your reviews too. So, thanks!
